Teofimo struggled to find targets all night, landing just 15.4% of his punches and 7% of his jabs. Stevenson performed well both defensively and offensively, hitting 44.4% of his punches. Basically beat Teo with the jab and got 105. That’s more than Lopez’s entire offensive connection rate of 72 (Compubox).

Following this career-defining victory, Shakur’s dominant performance will propel him into the elite ranks of the sport. Now 28, he has become a four-division champion and could become a welterweight champion in due course.
Looking at the list of fighters under 140 pounds, one can’t help but wonder, can anyone really challenge him? Gervonta Davis is the first name that comes to mind, but with his boxing future uncertain, it may be a while before we see him return to the ring.
Aside from Davis, few could pose a challenge. After the win, Chris Mannix asked Shakur what kind of big fight would keep him at 140 or above? Shakur said, “Wait a minute, wait a minute, now there’s a boxer here who inspires me too. Where’s Connor Benn? Hey, Connor Benn, we can make it explode, boy. We can make it explode, boy. I want the same rehydration terms you offered to Eubank Junior, and I want to fight.”
Connor Benn then entered the ring and the two began talking. They went back and forth, explaining how they would treat each other in a potential fight.

During the post-fight press conference, Eddie Hearn was asked about a possible match between Shakur Stevenson and Connor Benn. Hearn responded: “Conor Benn has a big challenge ahead of him but he’s ready for anything. I’d like to see Conor Benn win a world title. He also fights Rolly Romero tonight, which is a great fight for the welterweight division. Conor Benn will fight anyone; I’m not afraid of that.”
Hearn appears to be steering Benn toward a world title fight with WBA welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero. A fight with Shakur would only become a reality if there was a rehydration clause in the contract. Shakur was adamant about it when asked about it at a press conference.
“If he doesn’t agree to it, then we’re probably not going to fight. So, he’s just wasting his time. We’ll see, but at the end of the day I’m a businessman. Like I said, he had a rehydration clause with Chris Eubank. Chris Eubank is in the ring, half-dead. Why can’t he do the same thing?”
Conor Benn seemed reluctant to add a rehydration clause to his contract, saying on Instagram Live yesterday that if Shakur wanted rehydration, he would have to pay. As of now, it doesn’t look like Stevenson will move up to another level. He has showcased his talents in the four levels of competition he has competed in so far. From now on, his greatness will only grow.
