AEW has signed many names from WWE in its history. Wrestlers such as Samoa Joe, Jon Moxley, Mercedes Mone, Toni Storm and more have had great success in the Jacksonville promotion. The company’s recent signing of Tommaso Ciampa is a clear sign that this phenomenon isn’t ending anytime soon.

Unfortunately, WWE also signed some Tony Khan’s Top names. CM Punk, Jade Cargill, Cody Rhodes, Ricky Starks, Mariah May, Penta, Powerhouse Hobbs and more are under the Stamford-based company’s umbrella. Additionally, the Jacksonville-based promotion currently consists of several former WWE names who may never appear in an AEW ring again.

Here are three such examples.

#3. Adam Cole

NXT Legends Adam Cole Abandoned the TNT Championship at All In Texas due to unknown health issues. Additionally, he hinted at a possible in-ring retirement. The former WWE star’s career has been polarizing in the company led by Tony Khan. Although he was popular among fans, injuries hampered his development.

Khan said recently that he doesn’t have any updates on Cole’s health, but he hopes Cole will be involved.

“We want Adam Cole involved in AEW, I don’t have any health update other than to say you can see he’s doing great and he’s excited about AEW,” he said. (time: sports illustrated)

It looks like Adam Cole will not be in an AEW ring again. The former TNT Champion has suffered a lot of injuries during his career. It seems wiser to prioritize your health at this time rather than risk your body.

#2. Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho

55 years old Chris Jericho All Elite Wrestling is reportedly over. There are rumors that he will return to WWE at the Royal Rumble. However, fans were disappointed. The former world champion’s current whereabouts are unknown, but he may return to the Stamford-based company this year.

Y2J might just be slowly making his way back to WWE. He is unlikely to re-sign with the Tony Khan-led company. He is retiring and would be better served by a brief stint with the Stamford-based company.

#1.Keith Lee

Keith Lee’s My time in AEW was unforgettable. The former NXT Champion has been out for several months due to health issues. He recently told a fan on Twitter that he would be returning to the ring. However, he is unsure of the timeline.

“Also, I will take a moment to assure you that a return to the ring will definitely happen. Although I won’t reveal how or when. Much love,” he wrote.

Tony Khan may have given up on Lee altogether. The 41-year-old could soon exit the promotion.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for him. He might go to WWE or wrestle on the independent circuit. He could also make a miraculous return to elite wrestling, shine and establish himself as a top star. Wrestling is an unpredictable business and strange things happen.
