Venezuelan activist Javier Tarazona was released after four years under US pressure




Venezuelan human rights activist Javier Tarazona has been freed after more than four years in prison in Caracas as part of a government amnesty for political prisoners. His release followed pressure from the US following the ouster of Nicolás Maduro last month. Dozens of other political prisoners were freed by this initiative, although hundreds remain behind bars.
