Mazda’s global vehicle production rebounds in December


Japanese automaker Mazda Motor Corporation reported a 9.4 percent rise in global vehicle production to 99,018 units in December 2025, recovering from a 5.2 percent year-on-year decline to 95,232 units in November. Production in Japan increased by 6% to 66,024 units, with CX-30 production continuing to rise, up 69% to 8,961 units, while Mazda 3 production increased by 25% to 11,207 units and CX-5 volumes increased by 6% to 26,546 units.

Overseas vehicle production rose more than 17% to 32,994 units in December after falling 9.4% to 37,144 units in November, with CX-30 production continuing to fall – 33% to 6,046 units, while CX-50 production rose 19% to 9,693 units and rebounded a 28% of production. 4,212 units.

Exports from Japan fell 4% year-on-year to 57,223 units in December, with shipments to North America falling 18% to 22,591 units after a 15% rise in November, while exports to Europe rose 38% to 19,047 units after rising 25% the previous month.

For all of 2025, Mazda produced 1,156,707 vehicles globally, down 3.7% from 1,201,049 units in 2024. Domestic production fell 4.4% to 716,690 units, while overseas production fell 2.4% to 2.406%.

Global sales fell 1.7% to 1,256,215 units last year, sales in Japan rose 5.3% to 149,481 units, while overseas sales fell 2.5% to 1,106,734 units. Sales in the United States fell 3.3% to 410,345 units, while sales in Europe fell 9.5% to 158,922 units, China 74,847 units (-8%) and other markets 462,620 units (+2%).
