Despite speculation, Chris Jericho did not appear at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble in Riyadh last night. A report has arrived regarding his potential status in AEW in this case.
Last month, it was reported that Jericho signed a contract with the Tony Khan-led promotion Expired. This sparked rumors that he might be heading to WWE. Many thought this would happen at the Royal Rumble, but it didn’t.
Chris Jericho is currently still on the AEW roster page, which is updated frequently with promotions. Fightful Select shed some light on this, reporting that The Nueve have renewed their contract with the promotion, which runs from 2022 to 2025.
However, unlike other popular sports leagues in the United States, the company is under no obligation to mention any contract extensions or freezes. This proves that Jericho is still under contract.
Chris Jericho to tour this month
Although he hasn’t been in the ring in about ten months, the former AEW World Champion is still active on social media updating his current affairs.
A few months ago, his band Fozzy announced a UK tour from February 6th to 21st. With only a few days until the start of the tour, they hyped up the trip On social media, tell fans to buy tickets if they haven’t already.
Therefore, it is less likely that Jericho will appear in WWE this month as he will be fully focused on his tour. Considering he’s been busy with this, he may not have had enough time to get back into ring shape. As of this month, there are still no answers regarding Chris Jericho’s future in wrestling. Fans should continue to monitor any further developments.
