Inter extended their lead at the top of Serie A to eight points with a 2-0 win over struggling Cremonese on Sunday.
Lautaro Martinez and Piotr Zielinski found the net in the opening 31 minutes to give Cristian Chivu’s men all three points at the Stadio Giovanni Zini.
However, the game was halted when Cremonese goalkeeper Emile Odero had to stop the action after being hit by fireworks from the crowd.
Odero was able to continue for the rest of the match, despite a cut on his right leg.
The result boosts Inter’s title hopes, however, as their arch-rivals AC Milan can close the five-point gap with a win against Bologna on Tuesday.
Elsewhere in Italy, sixth placed seventh as Como welcomed Atalanta to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia d’Ajarum.
The visitors had to play over 80 minutes with 10 men after Honest Ahnor was sent off after just eight minutes.
However, they were able to hold off Cesc Fabregas’ men to take a share of the points after a goalless stalemate.
Juventus moved to within a point of third-placed Napoli after an emphatic 4-1 win over Parma.
Gleason Bremer had two bases apiece, while Weston McKenney and Jonathan David added sparkle to the result.
Parma had earlier equalized through an own goal from Andrea Cambiasso.

Metz got off to the worst possible start when Jean-Philippe Gbamin was shown a straight red card with just nine minutes on the clock.
Angers took the lead midway through the first half through Louis Mouton before seeing out the game to take the biggest numerical advantage and take all three points.
It was a game of two halves at the Allianz Riviera where Brest and Nice played out a four-goal thriller.
Brest scored twice in the opening quarter of an hour, through Romain del Castillo’s penalty and Kamori Doumbia.
However, the hosts hit back after the break to level things courtesy of Ali Abdi and Eli Wahi.
In the second game, Auxerre and Toulouse played to a goalless stalemate.
LaLiga
In La Liga, Real Madrid left it late Real Betis capitalized on Saturday’s slip-up over Espanyol with a win over Valencia to maintain a one-point gap between them and leaders Barcelona.
After Luis Rioja gave Valencia the lead, goals from Ezequiel Avila and former West Ham player Pablo Fornals completed the comeback to take Manuel Pellegrini’s side to fifth in the table.
Goncalo Guedes opened the scoring for Real Sociedad in the visit of Athletic Club.
And that goal was the difference until the 88th minute when Inigo Galleretta leveled the scoring just five minutes after Sociedad’s Brace Mendez had been sent off.
The game finished 1–1 – a result that keeps Sociedad in eighth place and Athletic in 11th place.
The other game in the Spanish top-flight saw a 0-0 draw between Getafe and Celta Vigo.
Bundesliga
In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund secured second place in the table with a 3-2 win over Heidenheim.
Dortmund battled back after Waldemar Anton’s opener turned the game on its head with Julian Niehues’ brace.
Two goals in two second-half minutes from Serhou Guirazzi – one from the penalty spot – ensured the hosts took all three points to move three points clear of third-placed Hoffenheim and six behind leaders Bayern.
In the second game, Stuttgart narrowly won over Freiburg thanks to Ermedin Demirović’s goal in the dark.
