A teenager was injured and died in hospital after a fire broke out in a Swiss Alpine bar during New Year celebrations, authorities said, raising the death toll in one of the worst disasters in modern Swiss history to 41.

Saturday’s deaths were announced a month after a fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort. Another 115 people were injured, most of whom are still receiving treatment in various hospitals.

Those killed in the disaster ranged in age from 14 to 39, but most were teenagers. Only four were over 24 years old.
