On Sunday, Israel and Egypt conducted a test reopening of the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza.
Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), which oversees humanitarian and civilian efforts in Gaza, said crossroads It will be open to the public starting Monday morning, but capacity will be limited, with about 150 people allowed through each day.
Those heading to the crossing will be picked up by buses and brought in in an organized manner, with everyone being screened by Israeli intelligence.
Israeli forces will provide security for the crossing in coordination with Egypt and under the supervision of the EU delegation.

Gaza residents are only allowed to return from Egypt if they left Gaza during the war, and only after receiving prior security clearance from Israel.
“The Rafah crossing has been reopened for human traffic only. Today, pilot testing and evaluation of the crossing’s operations are underway,” COGAT said in a statement.

“The two-way movement of residents into and out of Gaza is expected to begin tomorrow,” the statement continued.

“As part of President Trump’s 20-point plan, Israel has agreed to a limited reopening of the Rafah crossing to pedestrian traffic only, subject to Israel’s comprehensive inspection mechanism,” the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office wrote.
The prime minister’s office said the reopening was contingent on the return of all living hostages and Hamas’ “100 percent efforts” to find and return the remains of all deceased hostages.
