My husband and I are planning our fourth or fifth year of our favorite Valentine’s Day Date: building Lego sets together. We’ve been doing this for years, and then we can enjoy the fruits (well, flowers) of our labor around the house forever. These sets serve as gifts and activities. Making the middle part of the dry flower is probably my favorite of all, because you can each simultaneously work on one half and then click it at the end, followed by each building a different colored bonsai tree.

It made for a wonderful day adventure together, and I can’t wait for the next warm day for my husband and I to take it out again to our local harbor. It’s big enough that we can bring our son, though it’s more peaceful as a dating activity. It is inflatable, and I would recommend getting an electric filler because it requires a lot of manual pumping otherwise.

The classic go-to for Valentine’s Day is, of course, flowers. WIRED reviewer Boutayna Chokrane tried many flower delivery services to find the best to send to your home, and his favorite is Ode à la Rose, especially the Edith arrangement. The business was created by two former French bankers, and the design choices of the arrangements feel exquisite in the way that only French romance can. The Edith bouquet was completely Columbus double tulips from Holland, and hand-tied to a travel vase was a fun pink box.
