“Coming into the World Cup in consistent form gave me confidence” – Suryakumar Yadav after 5th IND vs NZ 2026 T20I
India skipper Suryakumar Yadav was named Player of the Series at the post-match presentation ceremony after a solid performance in the five matches. Looking back on the series, he said:
“It feels good…it’s been a long wait. I’ve been dreaming about when this moment would come. I’m following the same thing I did last year. I was out of form, not running. Coming into the World Cup in consistent form gave me confidence. I guess the sky hasn’t been blue for a year. I assessed my weaknesses and pulled out of the game.”
He continued:
“Talk to my friends and see where I went wrong. If you win or lose, you always gain something. We will sit down and analyze what happened in the last game. This format is really difficult for the bowlers. But we need to have good plans to restrict the opponents.”
