In the fourth round, Lopez’s gloves briefly made contact with the canvas after a body shot, and referee Harvey Doak ruled it a slip. The pressure mounted on Lopez as the fight wore on, but Stevenson continued to control range and tempo.

Lopez suffered a cut to his left eyebrow in the eighth round and suffered significant swelling as the fight progressed. Despite continuing to work hard in the final rounds, he couldn’t change the momentum. Stevenson took control of the game, winning 119-109 by unanimous decision from all three judges.

In the co-feature, Keyshawn Davis knocked out Jamaine Ortiz in the 12th round of their super lightweight bout.
