Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee Chairman Casey Wasserman issued a statement acknowledging that his emails were among more than 3 million documents released Friday by the U.S. Department of Justice related to investigations into human traffickers and child sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein.

The press release includes Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell. But Wasserman now claims he never had a relationship with Epstein.

“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell more than two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light. I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I flew on Epstein’s plane on a humanitarian trip in 2002 as part of a Clinton Foundation delegation. I am deeply sorry to have had any association with any of them,” the statement said.
