“I don’t know if I’ve ever raced when it was this cold, but thankfully we were in a stock car that was basically like an oven, so that helps. I think we felt pretty good in the car, honestly. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were still injured in the car, you know, a little sweaty, just because you know all the temperatures inside and you know there’s no wind in there because we were going so slow,” he said in an interview with X/Motorsports Today.

“I sympathize with the crew, the mechanics, the fans, the NASCAR officials and everyone outside of the cold. But we love this sport and we will compete in any conditions,” he added.

Kyle Larson enters the season as the defending champion with two titles under his belt. Last year, his teammate Chase Elliott won the Clash, while Larson finished midfield in 17th place.
