AJ Styles has officially retired from WWE after losing at the Royal Rumble Premium Live event. AEW Popular Stars Will Osprey Posted a social media update reacting to the extraordinary man hanging up his boots.

The former WWE Champion feuded with Gunther in a singles match and his career was in jeopardy. The two stars gave it their all and put on an exciting back-and-forth battle. AJ Styles tried his best, but Ringmaster was just too good that night.

After a few near falls, Gunther reversed a phenomenal forearm attempt from AJ Styles into a sleeper hold. The 48-year-old struggled to get out of trouble, but eventually collapsed and admitted defeat. Ending his WWE career. Shortly after the match, former AEW International Champion Will Osprey X (formerly Twitter) Share a one word message.

“Awesome,” Osprey wrote.

Will Ospreay has been out of action since August 2025. He is recovering from a serious neck injury. Osprey underwent surgery in September 2025.

The 32-year-old began a formal medical evaluation with AEW doctors backstage at AEW Dynamite on January 21. He was cleared to begin light training earlier this month.

It will be interesting to see when Will Ospreay makes his highly anticipated return to the ring.
