A few months ago, Nau’Jour Grainger, better known by his stage name Toosii, said he would be putting his music career on hold to pursue his football dreams. His turn brings opportunity vs syracuse Starting in 2026.
Granger’s commitment to Syracuse was short-lived, as the rapper later announced he would not participate in the program’s upcoming recruiting class. Granger points to recent comments from Syracuse head coach Fran Brown About his scholarship opportunities.
Granger argued in social media posts that Brown’s account of the events leading up to his exit did not accurately reflect what happened. The 26-year-old later described the coach as “idiot”.

“No, coach, that’s not what happened,” Granger said in the TikTok video. “I told you I wasn’t going there again and you felt like you wanted to break the news before I told people which school I was going to. (Brown) was a sucker for that.”

Grainger announced his commitment to the Orange on Dec. 1.
“For every kid who’s ever had a dream, make it a reality,” He wrote on X After submission. “God’s will is the way and no one can stop it, not even the devil. I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for even giving me the strength to pursue what I believe in when so many people told me I couldn’t. And thank you to those who support me so that it will never go unnoticed.”
Brown said earlier this month that Granger will compete as a backup for the 2026 wide receiver roster. Granger was a wide receiver and returner in high school.

Syracuse added three receivers during the recent transfer period. Brown also acknowledged that Granger likely won’t wear a Syracuse uniform this fall, citing how the roster is filling out.
“He’s still thinking about it…I’m not sure it’s going to happen because we have more and more players on the football team,” coach said last week.

Granger challenged Brown’s framework and provided evidence to further support his position.
“That was never part of the conversation,” Tussey said. “The conversation was, ‘You all pay for my school.’ That’s it. If you lied, I have the receipt.”

In addition to the Orange, the Syracuse native has reportedly visited schools closer to where he grew up in North Carolina — Duke and North Carolina. 247Sports also reported that Granger received a scholarship offer from Sacramento State.
