Norwich agree deal to sign attacker for £2.8m
The Canaries have had an outstanding January, both on the pitch and in the transfer window. Philippe Clement Turned things around from the start, even beating the likes of top-of-the-table Coventry City championship. That form was rewarded with reinforcements – the most impressive of whom was Ali Ahmed.
The Canadian attacker has got off to a perfect start and already looks likely to be one of the Championship signings in the January transfer window. With Josh Sargent pushing for a move away from the club, Ahmed’s prompt performance eased fears that the American could exit Carrow Road.
As for Sargent, his future remains unclear. There have been reports of a dispute between the striker and Norwich officials, with Toronto pushing to sign their target but he has yet to complete a move to MLS.
Clement was asked about his future after the American opted out of Norwich City earlier this month tell reporters: “Josh sent me a message (Saturday) night saying he couldn’t attend because he had a transfer on his mind.
“That’s obviously not what we want and there will be consequences. It’s something we need to discuss within the club but the club have made it clear to Josh and his agent that he will not be leaving during this transfer window.”
However, Norwich’s own transfer business suggests that could still change. The Canary Islands are linked to people like Caspar Hogg and Mohamed Toure, now look to have found the offensive addition they were after.
According to Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, Norwich have agreed to sign Toure It is worth around £2.8 million, with a bonus of around £400,000.
Mohamed Toure now travels to complete Norwich medical
The “Sky Sports” reporter further stated that Toure is currently going to Carrow Road to complete a medical examination, and Norwich will officially sign him before the deadline on Monday.
In terms of what Toure will offer, it looks like Norwich will bring in a tall forward who also has “excellent mobility” according to the U23 scout antonio mango.
It’s the perfect blend and should go a long way toward completing Clement’s recent offensive rebuild, especially if Sargent leaves in the coming days.
