Report, result and goals as the Gunners go seven points clear

Armory A commanding performance at Elland Road to beat Leeds 4-0 and move seven points clear at the top Premier League.

Leeds started with good energy and pressed high in the early stages, looking to disrupt Arsenal’s rhythm. Early crosses from the right and Ethan Ampadu’s speculative effort showed intent, but clear-cut chances were rare.

Arsenal looked slightly disjointed early on, not helped by Bukayo Saka’s late withdrawal before kick-off, though they gradually established control.

After a long push, the breakthrough came in the 27th minute. Noni Maduke, starting on the right, delivered a cross into the six-yard box after Leeds failed to deal with an early corner.

Martin Zubimendi reacted quickly to nod the ball home from close range, giving Arsenal a deserved lead.

Just ten minutes later, the visitors doubled their advantage in unfortunate circumstances for the hosts. Another inswinging corner from Maduke caused problems, with goalkeeper Carl Darlow trying to punch clear under pressure. Instead, the ball fell into his own net, leaving Elland Road stifled and Arsenal firmly in control 2-0.

Leeds went to half-time without a shot on target and spent a long time defending their box.

Daniel Farke made changes at the break to inject more energy and Leeds enjoyed a good spell at the start of the second half.

They forced a corner and eventually tested David Raya through Pascal Struijk’s header, but the Arsenal goalkeeper dealt with it comfortably.

The third goal came in the 69th minute and effectively settled the contest. Gabriel Martinelli, introduced from the bench, separated his defender on the right and delivered a low cross into the six-yard area.

Victor Gyokares finished his run well and finished from close range for his first league goal of the year, deflating the hosts further.

Arsenal continued to create chances, with Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus both denied by Darlow.

Jesus eventually added a fourth goal in the 86th minute after neat interplay with Martin Odegaard, who also came off the bench.

The Brazilian striker held onto his marker before guiding a right-footed shot inside the far post.
