Trump on "thin ice" with Iran: "American intervention in the Middle East often does not go according to plan"




Iran is open to dialogue to resolve tensions with the United States, but has no concrete plans for talks with Washington, even as Tehran faces the threat of US military action. This comes as Donald Trump has announced that another “large armada” is heading towards Iran. But what is Trump’s goal? “It’s unclear,” says General Richard Shirreff, former deputy supreme commander of NATO’s allied forces in Europe, on FRANCE 24. “But what is certain is that Trump is on very thin ice” since history has shown that American intervention in the Middle East often does not go according to plan.
