Joe Rogan takes aim golden globe award after revealing he refused to pay for a nomination in the award’s inaugural podcast category.
Speaking on his podcast, Rogan said organizers asked him to formally submit his show for consideration, but he refused to pay the $500 application fee required for nomination.
“A lot of people say, ‘Why Joe Rogan wasn’t nominated For the Golden Globes? Why did Amy Poehler win? I didn’t give in,” Rogan said.

“They asked me to submit a Golden Globe nomination application and you have to pay $500. The $500 was like paperwork or something. I said, ‘No,'” he added.

Rogen believes that audience influence is greater than Industry Awardssaid: “You can’t tell me I didn’t win. I’ve been number one for six years in a row.”

Comedian Amy Poehler’s The podcast “Good Hang” won an award. The decision drew criticism on social media, with users pointing out that the podcast has been around for less than a year, while other nominees have been on the air for much longer.
Rogen defended her win, saying: “I’m sure it’s good. It’s a win. I’m sure someone is going to love it. If it sucks, they’re going to give it to someone else, right?”

Other nominees in the category include “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” “SmartLess,” “Up First” and “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.”
The Call Her Dad podcast, hosted by Alex Cooper, was also nominated. The show features prominent political figures, including the former First Lady Michelle Obama And then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
