Glasgow rangers head coach Danny Rohr Has set out to build a team capable of competing scottish premier league Championship in the second half of the season.
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss has already brought in three new players to the first-team squad in the January transfer window in the form of Tuul Lomens, Tochi Chukwani and Andreas Skov-Olsen.
Both could become starters in the coming weeks after Skov Olsen on the right wing and Chukwani in midfield started in the final Premier League game against Dundee.
Rohr’s dream post-window starting XI still has more work to do before the transfer window closes on Monday, though, as he looks to add another striker to the squad to compete with Bojan Miovski and Youssef Cermiti.
Hansa Rostock center Ryan Naderi has emerged as one of their targets to fill the top end of the pitch, with reports that he Requested transfer to Ibrox earlier this week.
Rangers identify striker target
Correspondent Florian Plettenberg reportsHowever, the La Liga side continue to reject Gers’ bid for the German centre-forward, with the Scottish club prepared to move on if a deal falls through.
Leeds United striker Joel Pirro also had associated with mobile Heading to Glasgow as an alternative to Naderi. However, journalist Jost Broukhov revealed, He is not a choice Rangers before the end of the window.
The Dutch-born star scored 19 goals for Los Blancos in the Championship last season but is yet to score in the Premier League this term and it doesn’t look like he will be showing off his goalscoring exploits at Ibrox anytime soon.
According to TEAMtalkRangers identified Southampton’s number nine Cameron Archer as a possible replacement for Pirro and Nadelli on deadline day.
The report claims that the Light Blues have expressed interest in signing the Championship-based England striker in the coming days.
The report adds that if they fail to sign Naderi (whose club continue to reject their offers) or Pirro (who now appears to be off the Gers’ radar), they could look to sign the former Aston Villa marksman.
However, TEAMtalk did not make it clear whether they would consider signing the 24-year-old on loan from Southampton or if they would be willing to sign a permanent deal.
Why Rangers should sign Cameron Archer
The Light Blues should push for a move for Archer in the final days of the transfer window as he could become their next version of Alfredo Morelos.
Like the Colombia international, the 5ft 11in Saints striker is not a physical No 9, winning plenty of headers and flicks as a target man.
However, like Morelos, Archer has an upbeat physique that can put pressure on defenders in different ways, creating distance through short bursts of movement to create shooting opportunities.
The former Rangers striker made 269 appearances in all competitions during his time with the Light Blues, scoring 124 goals, thanks in part to his impressive finishing when the opportunity arises in and around the box.
Journalist Josh Bunting once described Archer as A “Cool Terminator” His performances in front of goal and his championship-level record with a number of clubs back this up.

He’s had more than his expected goals average in two of his three seasons at this level, but unfortunately he’s only managed two goals this season as his expected goals against rating is 3.42, which shows that quality goalkeeping has been the bane of his seasons.
Archer also made 36 appearances for Aston Villa’s U21 side, scoring 17 goals, before his Championship-level run of form, showing he can score regularly when given the chance.
He has made just six starts in the Championship for Saints this season, compared to 13 appearances and two goals in the Premier League last term, and Rangers could offer him regular starts to finally fulfill his potential as a prolific goalscorer.
His overall numbers and fitness in England’s second tier suggest he could become a Morelos-esque player for the Gers if he can find his best form in front of goal in Scotland, which is why he could be an excellent replacement for Pirro and Naderi.
