Elche vs Barcelona: Line-ups, Stats and Preview

Match preview for Elche vs Barcelona

Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick hopes his side can avoid another comeback when they travel to Elche tomorrow.

Barca have made a habit of going behind in games – conceding the opener in three of their last four fixtures – and while they managed to get out of trouble against Slavia Prague and FC Copenhagen, They lost at Real Sociedad a fortnight ago.

The German will enjoy a less stressful evening at the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero.

He said: “The comeback is because we concede a lot of goals. Our mentality is always to believe in ourselves, but we have to do things better, especially at the start of games.

“We always have to be prepared from the outside and that’s what I want to see from the team. Barca matches are always fun to watch, but we have to work on this and that’s what we’re going to do.”

A win tomorrow will see Barca move four points clear of Real Madridwhich hosts Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

But Flick warned that it would not be an easy task against an Alshey side that defined expectations after promotion last season.

“The great moments of the season are coming, the important moments and every game is one less game,” he added. “We have to plug in and focus. We played at home last year against Elche, they had more possession. Eder (Sarabia) has done a great job. He plays very well, he is very brave. He has an exciting game and creates a lot of chances, I like to see how he plays.”

Elshe is in 11th place but has been finding it difficult lately. They are winless in four La Liga games while they were also beaten by Real Betis in the Copa del Rey.
