Israel plans to reopen the Rafah crossing on Sunday after being closed for nearly two years.

However, COGAT, the defense ministry agency that oversees civil affairs in the Palestinian territories, said in a statement on Friday that the crossing linking Gaza and Egypt would only be open to allow “limited movement of people.”

The opening of the crossing, a critical entry point for bringing much-needed humanitarian supplies to Gaza’s estimated two million displaced people who lack food, shelter and medicine, is part of the second phase of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal aimed at halting the devastating war between Hamas and Israel.
