Filipino MMA star Joshua Pacio dominates the ONE Strawweight World Championship. It all started with a convincing decision victory in his rematch against former division king Yoshitaka Naito.

The fight took place in September 2018 at ONE: Conquer Heroes in Jakarta, Indonesia. Having learned the lesson of surrendering in the first confrontation two years ago, “Passion” was prepared for everything and dealt with it very thoroughly in the re-engagement with “Nobita”.

Joshua Pacio excels at overpowering opponents with knockouts He did his damage early in the game with lightning-quick kicks and combinations.

Naito managed to score knockouts in the later rounds, but Pacio ensured the veteran Japanese fighter never made significant headway each time and was instead busy holding on to a unanimous decision victory.

The Lion Nation MMA fighter defeated Brooks via TKO in a unification trilogy bout last February to regain the world title.

Joshua Pacio believes Naito has the best rematch win rate of his career

Joshua Pacio believes his rematch victory over Yoshitaka Naito was the best win of his career and a proud moment since he lasted the full five rounds and performed well.

He talked about it last year in an interview with the MMA Super Fan Podcast, placing it alongside a rematch between Jared Brooks and Yosuke Saruta.

box shared:

“The first one was the Jared Brooks rematch win. The second one, I think is still Naito’s win. It’s here because we went five rounds – it was the first time I’ve gone through five rounds. And finally, the third one, the one against Saruta.”

Joshua Pacio has been competing in ONE Championship since 2016 and has a 14-5 record with nine wins.
