An explosion was reported at a metal fabrication plant Thursday night in pennsylvaniaaccording to officials.
At least four people were injured and taken to the hospital during the incident at the Langeloth Metallurgical Company plant on Langeloth Road in Smith Township, Washington County, WTAE reported.

The incident was reported around 6:15 p.m., the outlet reported.
“Apparently they were transferring some kind of chemical from a tanker to a stationary tank and something went wrong and there was an explosion,” Smithtown Fire Chief Brandon Kriznik said, according to WTAE.

Washington County officials issued a shelter-in-place notice to the Langloth community due to concerns that hydrogen peroxide could be released into the air, but the notice has since been lifted.

The county has notified U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, which local emergency management officials say is standard procedure when dealing with chemical incidents.
“Everything is fine. Nothing was posted that could hurt anyone and everyone can rest tonight knowing everything is fine here,” Kriznik said.
