With Super Bowl Coming soon, FanDuel and DraftKings prediction markets may introduce parlays for the event following a self-certification contract with the CFTC.
The CME Group, which cooperates with two industry giants, has its own certification of a multi-leg football contract with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The actual details, however, are not yet known FILING suggests that it will list the contract on Thursday, nor have any details been shared.
In the self-certification process, this is where a CFTC-registered contract market submits documents explaining their intent to list a new contract. In the filing’s description, it reads: “Initial List of Event Contract Exchanges on Pro Hockey Game Point Spreads, Pro Football Championship Combos, Olympic Competitions, and Grammy Awards.”
In the contract details, the title is “Event Contracts on Pro Hockey Game Point Spreads and Pro Football Championship Combos.” With the arrival of the Super Bowl, on Sunday 8 February, it raises the question of whether it is a focus of the prediction markets.
Does CME Group work with FanDuel and DraftKings Predictions?
In the case of FanDuel, the derivatives market CME Group is an events contract platform partnerthat it appears to be a joint venture. At the time, FanDuel Group CEO, Amy Howe, said: “The partnership with CME Group will open up our ability to bring more innovative and compelling products to FanDuel’s rapidly growing customer base.
“We believe that there is a potential for a wide audience for sales in event-based markets and we want to provide a platform that allows our customers to participate in this activity.”
It’s a little different for DraftKings though, as it says it will connect to multiple exchanges, starting with CME Group at the launch. Its intentions also include the planned launch of the recently acquired Railbird Technologies Inc and its wholly owned subsidiary, Railbird Exchange, LLC, but it is not known when and if it will move to DCM.
