Venezuela approves oil sector privatization as major policy change




Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, signed a law opening up the oil sector to privatization on Thursday, reversing two decades of socialist policies. Lawmakers approved the review earlier after Washington eased sanctions, expanding operations for American companies weeks after President Nicolas Maduro was captured in a US military raid in the capital, Caracas.
