TikTok said it is still working to restore its infrastructure in the US

TikTok said it is making progress in recovering its infrastructure in the US after an untimely data center outage, which affected the region shortly after TikTok US deal past. Last week, TikTok announced the creation of a separate entity in the US to American investors to avoid a nationwide ban.

During the transition, users reported issues with searching TikTok, watching videos, posting, loading comments, unexpected behavior of the For You algorithm, content, and more.

On Monday, the company attributed glitches in a data center power outagewhich is said to be affecting TikTok and other apps.

Now, a post on TikTok USDS Joint Venture’s X account shows that the outages have not been fully resolved.

“We are making significant progress in recovering our US infrastructure with our US data center partner,” the post said. “However, the US user experience may have some technical issues, including posting new content. We are committed to restoring TikTok to its full capacity as soon as possible. We will continue to provide updates. Thank you for your patience.”

The company did not name the data center partner in error; however, the US has been affected by a major winter storm for the past few days, which has had an impact about 220 million Americans.

The timing of the glitches led some users to question the veracity of TikTok’s statements, as the disruption also occurred as civil unrest. started to heat up after US citizen Alex Pretti was killed by ICE agents.

on an earlier postTikTok noted that US users may experience “more bugs, slower load times, or requests that time out, including posting new content,” as infrastructure issues continue. Creators may also see zero views or likes on their posts, or their earnings seem to disappear, but this is also due to server timeouts.

“Your actual data and engagement are safe,” the company advises.
