Europe at the Crossroads: Rethinking Franco-German Leadership




François Picard is pleased to welcome Jeanette Süß, researcher at the Study Committee for Franco-German Relations (Cerfa) at the French Institute of International Relations (Ifri). France and Germany are often called the driving force of the EU. Although their visions of Europe differ, they were looking for a common language. Now, as the EU faces formidable challenges amid Russian aggression, American unpredictability and internal fragmentation, the EU and the Franco-German alliance are being tested like never before.
