
Five years ago, the United Kingdom left the European single market following the post-Brexit transition. One of the side effects of leaving was the restriction of British waters for EU fishermen, who were forced to cut their quotas by 25%. In France, 90 boats that lost their license to fish in British waters were scrapped. This dissolution of the fishing fleet had indirect effects on the whole sector, especially in Brittany.
