fellow brooklyn Lopez defended his title for the fourth time and was slightly at a disadvantage against Stevensonhis goal is to become a four-weight world champion. Judas tells us that while many predicted it would be a balanced tactical contest mill city boxing He thinks the fight could be one-sided.
“Annihilation. Decapitation. I think Te’o is a very dominant force, but I think Shakur Stevenson’s skill set is going to overwhelm Te’o. He’s never seen this type of move.”
With Terrence Crawford retiring, there’s a hole near the top of boxing’s rankings, and Stevenson’s dominant performance could push him higher than ever — especially if he fights Lopez the way Judah suggested.
While the Jan. 31 showdown is expected to be a chess match, Judah hopes both fighters will be fully committed and leave the ring knowing that nothing is left behind.
“Teo won’t back down. Shakur won’t back down either. We’re going to have an exciting 12-round fight, no matter how long it lasts.
“I’m just begging both guys to come in and leave everything they’ve got in the ring.”
The Lopez-Stevenson undercard has also been announced, including two world title fights. Carlos Adames defends his WBC middleweight title against Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams, while another Brooklyn native, Bruce Carrington, will compete against Carlos Castro for the vacant WBC featherweight belt. Former lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis will also face Jamaine Ortiz in a super lightweight bout.
