WWE legend William Regal has been causing a stir on Twitter recently. Today’s wrestlers urged to reduce dangerous neck collisions. Many current and retired players have come to Regal in an attempt to quell tribalism and reduce injuries across the board. Now, AEW’s Jeff Jarrett has responded.
The initial comments drew heavy criticism from AEW fans, with some believing that Regal was trying to move up after Kyle Fletcher fell on his neck at World’s End. Regal never specified what led to his initial statement. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that Fletcher did not suffer any major injuries.

Now, Jeff Jarrett has had his say on the matter. in the latest issue of My world with Jeff JarrettThe multiple-time world champion responded to the WWE star’s comments, claiming the game has changed and the most important thing is precautions.
“I think you can’t just react – if something goes wrong – I think you have to do preventative maintenance. I believe my mindset is not just about cardio and stretching, but nutrition and precautions,” Jarrett said on Minecraft with Jeff Jarrett (h/t The Wrestling Observer).
Jarrett said today’s wrestlers need to stay in top shape, stretch, focus on nutrition and hit the gym to make sure they can handle the injuries they sustain. Because, at this point, we’re not going backwards.
“There’s just no way these guys can say, ‘No, no, no, I’m not going to do this in the long run.’ We didn’t do that when we were their age,” Jarrett claimed. (H/T The Wrestling Observer)

Regal’s initial tweet turned off comments in an attempt to preemptively shut down overly aggressive responses. The WWE Hall of Famer detailed his neck issues while also mentioning Bryan Danielson and the late Mitsuharu Misawa, who passed away in 2009 from a back sprain.
“After getting rid of the neck problem in Misawa, I thought it would stop this nonsense, but it got worse and every time I talked to people about doing it, it was like ‘well, it doesn’t hurt…’ Trust me, it does.”
WWE Piper Niven Ivar agreed with Regal, and even AEW’s Kenny Omega backed the legend. Omega responded to fans’ concerns about the “timing” of the news, but said Regal’s concerns came from a good place, Everyone is urged to abandon tribalism and engage in good-faith dialogue.
