Liverpool are on the lookout for a new centre-back heading into 2025, with the Reds reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehy.

The defender is expected to leave Selhurst Park next summer after coming close to leaving ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Newcastle push to sign Gueye During the recent summer transfer window but were unwilling to match Crystal Palace’s high asking price – the Magpies’ final bid was reportedly worth it £65 million.

The 24-year-old’s contract with the London club expires in 2026 and the Eagles will be more willing to offload the centre-back next summer, with several clubs vying for the England international.

Chelsea have long-term interest in bringing back Gueye to the club and in accordance with Simon PhillipsThe Blues are seriously considering a move for the Crystal Palace star in January.

The west London club have a sell-on clause in the defender’s contract, giving Chelsea an edge over the competition as the Blues can sign the Eagles defender at a discount compared to their rivals.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, a major rival could be vying for Guehi in 2025.

according to MirrorLiverpool are considering a £65m offer to Crystal Palace for Marc Gueye next summer as the Reds are keen to add a new centre-back to their ranks.

Arne Slott’s current centre-back partnership is Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, however, whether the Dutch star will return next season remains uncertain due to the Liverpool captain’s contract with the club Will expire at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The only way for Geshe to arrive at Anfield is for the Netherlands international to leave, otherwise the £65m might be better spent elsewhere as the Merseyside club already have very good options at centre-back.
