Tim Bradley may be about to return to the ring at the age of 42, showing who he’s ready to return to fight.
‘Desert Storm’ looks set to take on Jake Paul as Should Paul achieve the unthinkable and beat Anthony Joshua on Friday night?Former world champion Bradley has offered to share the ring with “Problem Child”.
When the newbie Paul takes on the 2012 Olympic gold medalist and former world heavyweight champion, he’s trying to pull off the biggest upset in boxing history. The eight-round main event will be broadcast live on Netflix from the Kaseya Center in Miami, with three world title fights on the undercard.
Former world champion Bradley, who retired in 2017, made it clear that he was not only ready to fight Paul on the same night, but also his trainer J’Leon Love.
Bradley is a former super lightweight and welterweight world championand has defeated Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez during his career. He made extraordinary call for return on Andre Ward’s show all the smoke podcast.
Bradley called Paul a “fake,” saying:
“You think this is a game? I’m not playing. I’m not playing with you. I’m going to beat him and his coach. Two to one. I’m going to fight you and Jake Paul on the same night.
“I looked at his (Love’s) career and watched him fight and I was like, ‘I can beat this bum.’ “I don’t care if he’s 175 pounds — I’ve been fighting guys heavier than him my whole career. “
Love last donned the gloves in 2021, when he defeated Marcus Oliveira on eight rounds. The 38-year-old scored his best career win against Marco Antonio Periban in 2014, but failed against Peter Quillin and David Benavidez on his way to world level.
Love became the center of controversy in 2013 when a controversial win over Gabriel Rosado was overturned after he failed a drug test after testing positive for the banned diuretic hydrochlorothiazide. He was suspended for six months and fined $10,000.
Bradley also revealed that he received a call from Love outlining how to argue with Paul.
“He called me and said, ‘You have to get through me first.'” I thought, ‘Oh, this is easy.’ I’ll pass you by – but when you send the contract, make sure you add him (Paul) at the end of the contract. “
Bradley has never fought above 147 pounds in his career, but on Friday night Paul is expected to move over 200 pounds to beat Joshua, who can’t weigh more than 245 pounds after agreeing to a contract stipulation.
