S&P 500 loses steam ahead of jobs data


The stock market remained lower late in the afternoon, largely led by tech stocks, while the S&P 500 tried to fight back only to lose ground.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.1%, while the S&P 500, which had remained near flat, was down 0.2%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq is down more than 0.5%.

Tech stocks have been rising for several years and now everyone is profiting, selling, in the face of some risks.
