A Beta feature that allows users to create custom playlists by writing AI prompts

If a weird, throwaway, something made by AI is something that interests you, you probably know that you can type your request to the chatbot in something like Spotify or apple music manually. But now, Spotify is rounding out its own, perhaps less clunky version of this process, and calling it a feature that prompts the playlist, which is currently only available to Premium Spotify Users in New Zealand.

Since this is a beta feature, Spotify says that “the experience will improve as we convert more listeners.”

According to a Spotify Blog Postthe feature “taps your entire listening history, all back in one day.” Spotify gives an example that can give you a different way but familiar playlist, “the music from my main artists from the last attempts of refinement that I have never heard.”

Spotify also says a prompting playlist can be set to “refresh daily or weekly,” which can do this, as “Discovery Weachy” or “release options with. It is also mentioned that there are pre-written prompts for people who are interested in tapping their way into this feature, but have no real ideas.

Spotify claims that it “prompts playlists that let you describe exactly what you want to hear and set the rules for your personal playlist.” If you had any experience with the Spotify ALGORITHM before an LLM you were overwhelmed by it, you might be easily captivated by it. Spotify, like most of the entire Tech World of algorithms, doesn’t really know you, no matter what it says. It is always like any non-mental suggestion of understanding followed closely by Sheeran’s six recommendations.

But I’m not in New Zealand, and won’t try and make Spotify trigger the featured playlist for me, nor can I do it with dumb shit. So now I just need to use a chatbot:
