The F-16 pilot was killed on Thursday when his jet crashed during the preparations for the air show in Central Poland, the government spokesman said.

Spokesman Adam Szłapak confirmed his death in a post on social media. The PAP news agency reported that the plane was part of the Polish air force.

“Tragedy in Radom, during the preparation for the air emission, the F-16 jet collapsed. Unfortunately, the pilot died,” ” Szlaka wrote on xadding that the Minister of Defense headed to the scene of the accident.

No one was injured in the collision on the ground, according to a statement of the Polish army.

Videos posted by Poling Media showed aircraft that performed an acrobatic maneuver before they collapsed on the runway in a fire ball.

“Family and loved ones, I bring my deepest condolences out of my heart,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on x.

Deputy Government Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on social media that he was at the scene.

The collision happened on the eve of Airshow in 2025, about 60 miles south of Warsaw, which was supposed to happen this weekend.
