Police find car in ditch, woman missing, arrest driver in puzzling case

The Hamilton Police Department said Chastity Ann Terry was last seen around 1:30 a.m. on January 10 at the interstate exit in Jean, Alabama.

Authorities noted that Terry “may have a medical condition that may impair her judgment.”

Hamilton Police Chief Jordan Carter said Terry was last seen filling up at a Love’s on Interstate 22 with 49-year-old Charles David Williams Jr. Stop truck stop.

“Ms. Terry then left with the man from Love’s in Jasper and continued westbound on Interstate 22 from that location,” he said. “We believe she did take possession of the vehicle in the ditch near Exit 22 of Interstate 22, which is County Road 45.”

On Tuesday, police announced they had seized the vehicle Terry was last seen riding in and arrested its operator.

“Our investigators are working hard to locate Chastity,” police said.

Authorities did not provide details on whether Williams’ arrest was related to Terry’s disappearance. WBMA-LD reports The pair traveled to the Birmingham area to purchase drugs.

Terry is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with strawberry blond hair and hazel eyes.
