Devin Haney reportedly dropped his lawsuit against Ryan Garcia, and Kingry agreed to use VADA as a drug testing facility for the rematch. At this point, the second contest between the two is about to begin. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
lawsuit dismissed
Reporter Cynthia Conte broke the news and Haney posted his reaction, saying Ryan was not a “duck” for agreeing to his terms. The two fighters met with Turki Sheikh on Saturday, possibly to discuss a rematch.
Conte said Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) would drop the lawsuit if Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) agreed to VADA, which he has now done. There’s no word yet on whether, when or where this fight will feature a heavyweight fight. Haney said in an interview on Saturday that his next fight will be 143 or 144.
Haney, 26, and his father, Bill, wanted the fight badly. They needed this fight to regain credibility after Ryan absolutely destroyed the previously undefeated two-division world champion on April 20.
Going into the fight, many people thought Ryan was crazy because of his strange behavior. He acts like he’s ready to be taken away bellevue mental hospitalhis behavior completely fooled everyone. Ryan’s performance is perfect.
When he entered the ring, he immediately staggered Haney with his left hook in the first round, beating him like a drum. During the final four rounds of the fight, Ryan seemed to deliberately keep Haney alive so he could continue to beat him up pointlessly. It’s ugly.
Ryan defeated Haney by a 12-round majority decision last April at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Haney was knocked down three times in the game, once in the 7th, 10th and 11th time. The scores are 114-110, 115-109.
Garcia accepts terms
A very reliable source tells me that if Ryan Garcia agrees to participate in VADA, Devin Haney will officially drop the case against him. Garcia has agreed to participate in VADA and the rematch is about to begin! #boxing
