Uzi Freyja: Cameroonian electro rhythm goddess with machine gun flows

Born in Cameroon, Kelly Rose arrived in France when she was 12 years old. In recent years she has developed songwriting skills that, combined with electronic beats and punky bravado, have given way to Uzi Freya, an artist who has played some of the biggest French festivals and will release her debut album at the end of January. She tells Marjorie Hache that “Bhelize Don’t Cry” is a 12-song letter to her younger self. We also meet Judeline, a rising Spanish singer-songwriter who follows the lead of artists like Rosalia, fusing traditional rhythms with indie electro sounds. Finally, let’s take a look at “The Human Fear,” the sixth studio album by Scottish rocker Franz Ferdinand.
