Any topic about the Women’s Champions League final was quickly silent in Arsenal – Renee Slegs’ team is still on duty.

If Chelsea plays Manchester United on Wednesday, they can be women’s Premier League champions if they’re better off with Aston Villa.

When Chelsea beat Barcelona 8-2, the two champion rivals had a distinct semi-final in the European semi-finals, and Arsenal shocked Lyon with a 5-3 overall victory. Can these results swing momentum during run-in?

Arsenal goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar told Sky movement Facing her former club before. “Of course, you’ll follow them and keep watching their work, but we just need to focus on ourselves. That’s the only thing that impacts us.

“We still want to keep moving forward and keep the pressure.”

Arsenal beat Lyon with a victory against one of Europe’s top teams. How did they produce such amazing results?

Van Domselaar added: “We’re really made up. We have a clear plan. We know what we want to do.”

“This (result) is not what you would expect in the first place. But I think if you see the game, it will happen eventually.

“We are in such a great situation, especially in the WSL. If you start playing from Sunday, that may give us more confidence because we are such a great team and we can do that.”

Arsenal’s season was in danger when Jonas Eidevall resigned in October, but the Slegs did more than just stabilize the ship.

Her calm influence and popularity in the team took them to a new level. Van Domelaar has a lot of praise for her boss.

“A lot has changed this year, things have happened a lot, but at the same time, it makes us clear when we Renee stepped up.”

“In fact, she has given us confidence since then. So, I don’t think there’s actually a lot of changes. It’s obvious. Everyone is on the same page.

“The real composition of Renee is very calm and gives a lot of clarity. If you say that, she’s a really good person, one of us is a really good person. But all the staff are like that. She’s really a manager. She can manage people, she can manage players.

“But she does have a great staff around her, and it helps her, and it helps us. Overall, it’s a fit for everyone. I’ve said from my experience that I’m very happy with Renee’s approach and she brings people confidence, which is really good.”

Although Alessia Russo and Kim Little drove Arsenal under the Slegrs, Van Domelaar also played her role.

Since joining from Aston Villa last season, the Dutch goalkeeper has kept 10 clean sheets in the WSL, the second-highest in the division.

“My season has been really good so far. It’s great to play with all these great players,” said Van Domelaar, who has made 32 appearances for the Netherlands. “From the beginning of the season, the coach and René have given me a lot of confidence, from getting injured, getting up, playing the first game against Leicester and working hard to get straight to the starting XI.

“I got the confidence from everyone. Our goalkeeper league is a very close group and I feel like we push each other and we are very supportive of each other. It’s the best environment and I think that’s already shown on the court.

“I feel very confident, we both feel very good. I’m so happy to be back on the court on Sunday and I can’t wait to see what else ahead of us.

“For me, it was a big step, especially when I came to the club, I was still injured. I had to join the team myself and know the team and didn’t really play any friendly games to understand the style of the game before the season started.

“So it just shows how close this club is, they’re just slowly putting me into the team and giving me the confidence that I can do it with them on the court. It’s a big difference, but it’s the best choice for me and by far the best decision is the best decision.”

As the title battle intensifies, Arsenal remains focused on their goals. Chelsea may be an obvious favorite, but Arsenal’s confidence after its impressive victory in Lyon proves that they are still in the fight.
