Lenoir said he thought it would be “crazy” to quit the team while it was in the trenches.
“I would never be a part of something like this. I have too much love for the game, too much pride to even tell a coach that I’m not going to play,” Lenoir said. “I’m a guy that gives 110 percent every game. So, if I get injured and the guys behind me don’t support me and can’t play or don’t want to play, I feel like that’s bringing cancer to the team.”
It’s been such a year for San Francisco. With Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk re-signed, the team had high hopes heading into the season. However, the turmoil of the offseason spilled over into the regular season, and the losses continued to mount.
